Cordes Vides (1990)
was commissioned by harpist Erica Goodman through
the Ontario Arts Council. It is included in Ms Goodman's CD, Erica
Goodman Plays Canadian Harp Music (BIS CD-649), which won a Juno Award for best
Classical Album in 1994.
The piece is like an imaginary folkdance evoking the open harmonies of
the violin. The dance gradually dissolves into scales played with varying
speeds and colours. Cordes Vides is dedicated to Erica Goodman.
