Suspended Waltz (1998) for
mandoline, guitar and harp, is taken from music which accompanies a
dream-like dance sequence in Elsewhereless, a chamber opera by Rodney
Sharman and film-maker Atom Egoyan, performed last season as part of the
World Stage Festival (Toronto) and Festival Canada (Ottawa).
Suspended Waltz was adapted for trio at the request of guitarist Francesco
Cuoghi, and receives its first performance at the 1998 European Harp
Symposium, Perugia, Italy.
